From Hippie to Disco Fashion in the 70s

From the hippie style of the late 1960s to the disco style of the 1970s, there was a big change in what people wore. Here’s a quick summary of the change:

Hippie Fashion (early ’70s): – The hippie movement of the late ’60s still had an effect on the fashion of the early ’70s.
– People wore loose maxi dresses, peasant shirts, and bell-bottom jeans that gave them a more bohemian and natural look. Earthy colours, tie-dye patterns, and flower prints were popular. Accessories with an ethnic look, like headbands, fringed vests, and beaded jewellery, were often worn with these styles.

Disco Fashion (mid to late 1970s): As the disco era became more famous, clothes became more glitzy and flashy.
– Shiny fabrics like Lurex, sparkles, and metallics became popular, which matched the dance floors lit by disco balls.
Wrap skirts, jumpsuits with wide legs and hot pants were popular styles for women. A lot of people also wore halter tops and tube tops.
Platform shoes and high-heeled boots were popular, and they were often worn with materials that sparkled or shone.
Men liked flashy styles with wide lapels, big patterns like paisley and geometric prints, and fitting shirts with open collars.
Both men and women liked leisure clothes, which were often made of polyester. Most of the time, the jackets and pants in these suits went together.

It’s important to remember that these are just general trends and that people have different tastes in fashion. In the 1970s, the change from hippie style to disco style was a big change in how people wanted to look. This change was affected by the changing music and culture of the time.
